Sep 23, 2018 Streets of Rogue - How to Win Election. Written by Dima / Sep 23, 2018 How System Works, and How Up Election Chance. 6 - Dirty mafia way - talk to mafia on downtown (4-1/2/3) and pay them for getting your electability up. (costs 300 gold, or something about it) Gives +2 electbility per floor.
I've been having major problems trying to play the mobster. Especially in the beginning doing shakedowns.
The chances are like 50% then, it fails I get hit a couple of times, get to low health and have to spend my food to not die in the next shakedown that might or might not fail. Are there any tips for that, besides just equipping a better weapon and/or getting a bunch of followers? (I fcking hate followers). Also, how exactly is the debt you have to pay to the police calculated?
Is it only based on the amount of income from shakedowns you have or also based on which floor you are?Are there maybe any general tips that could help me succeed with this character?. I had some trouble with the mobster at first too. Their a very different kind of class so here's some tips.Even if you hate followers (I do too) use the friend phones for Slums/Industrial to start your shakedown empire. Just leave them at the door outside and it'll still increase your chances.Your revenue earns each floor like trust funder and the big quest just needs a set number total. Try to shake down as much as possible in the beginning before the store-owners get to heavily armed.Sometimes a better option is to go straight to violence right away. A failed speech check to shakedown leads to them basically getting the first shot on you so it's sometimes best to just come in swinging. Both mugger and extortionist are worth upgrading early if you got the cash, whichever one increases chance to threaten is the one to prioritize.Make sure you pay your debt if you can since supercops will spawn and their no joke.
Remember ATMs can be used instead of cops if you get a crap disaster like riot/war zone/radiation blasts that makes cops hard to find/talk to.The absolute best perk is no in-fighting for them. Not only does it let you bring your followers in and go buck wild, but it also prevents you accidentally going too trigger happy and killing the clerk/shopkeeper after they surrender.Speaking of that, you might have to protect the shopkeeper if it's a disaster like riot/zombies/war zone since you can get points deducted from your big quest if you succesfully shakedown and then they die somehow (yeah it's kind of dumb) so turning disasters off entirely is a good last resort if you just want to beat it. As a fellow follower-hater, I will say that getting better weapons can help, as can shaking someone down after they've had a little run-in with some other NPCs or an accidental ventilation malfunction (hopefully without seeing you set it up). Making them friendly can also improve your odds of a successful shakedown.About the debt, I can't really say that I know exactly how it's calculated, but it seems likely to be either a fixed percentage increase or a constant increase (I'm going by memory and my current run is with an Assassin, so I can't quite boot up the game and check without ending a run; but I will try to update).Update: I've been playing Mobster again and paying attention to the Debt. It starts at 60 at 1-2 and seems to go up by a constant 25 every level after that (so, 85 at 1-3, 110 at 2-1, 135 at 2-2, and so on).Thankfully, the amount of money you have on hand can snowball out of control with the Mobster (much more so than with other characters) because the total amount of funds raised listed in the top left gets added to your on-hand money between levels, much like Trust Funder (that is, if you ended 1-3 with 120, then you will start 2-1 with 120 more than you had at the end of 1-3).
This is especially powerful as it means that each person you successfully shake down early on pays you that 5 or 10 every level afterwards. So, yeah, shake down as many people as you can early on (and keep shaking them down, of course, if only for the money and experience points) and you should be good (and shaking down early on should help as they shouldn't have much in terms of armaments/backup).
